Merchandise worth a large number of naira devastated in Ondo fire flare-up

Products and property worth a great many naira were on Thursday obliterated when a few shops were gutted by flame in Ondo, the home office of Ondo West Neighborhood Government.

It was assembled that the occurrence happened in Oka region of the town where vehicle save parts shops are arranged.

As indicated by an onlooker, when the flame began toward the beginning of the day, all endeavors to put it out were not fruitful, which was said to have been brought about by high voltage when power was reestablished to the region by the Benin Power Conveyance Organization, BEDC.

The onlooker further expressed that men of the Ondo State Flame Administration did not appear after calls were put through to them amid the furious inferno.

In the mean time, the proprietor of the influenced shops, Alhaji Adewale Hassan, who engaged the state government for help, said he had lost nearly all that he had attempted to the inferno.

“I left the shop at about 7:30pm yesterday (Wednesday) and was called upon by sympathizers, educating me that my shop was ablaze, brought about by the high votage of power brought by the BEDC, which came about to blast that affected the shops.

“Quickly, I called the flame administration to our salvage yet they didn’t react, they said their vehicle was terrible.”

The Police Advertising Officer, PPRO, Ondo State Order Mr. Femi Joseph, affirmed the episode, saying the order had started examination concerning the occurrence, including that no life was lost in the occurrence

“The flame began at about 10pm yesterday and consumed till early today yet we can’t measure the dimension of the harm now however there was no life lost in the flame episode,” the PPRO expressed.
